Van Hipp has chaired the business development and technology marketing company American Defense International, Inc., in Washington, DC, since 1995. Under his leadership, the firm’s team, which consists of former high-level government and military personnel, works with private sector companies from around the world, with an emphasis on enhancing business relations with important government agencies. Van Hipp is also closely involved with the Salvation Army. He sits on the National Capitol Board of Advisors and previously chaired the Salvation Army in Alexandria.
Before his time at American Defense International, Van Hipp served the United States government in several key positions. A few of his past positions include Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States Army. He played a leading role in mobilizing Army Reserve Forces during Operation Desert Storm. He gained further military leadership experience following his appointment as Principal Deputy General Counsel of the US Navy.
Mr. Hipp has leveraged his military and strategic government knowledge to the benefit of clients in a diversity of global industries. His personal interests include hunting and fishing.
